5/25/2023 0 Comments Iron titan attacks runescapeNowadays, both for bossing and regular PvMing, do you feel the combat is more or less engaging than in OSRS? I know that EoC kind of killed gear variety, turning it all into more or less a bunch of tiers of armor you were "forced" to wear based on your combat style. How is the overall progression of the game mode? Do you feel there's a lot of freedom and skills actually complement each other? Is it more or less exciting than OSRS Ironman? Do bosses with a huge amount of droppable uniques such as GWD generals/Nex make these items a chore to obtain? What about grinding for off-hand weapons AS WELL as main-hand ones? Does the game mode feel incomplete without some of the unique items you can get in Treasure Hunter (i.e Silverhawk Boots or XP-boosting outfits)? Although ironman mode doesn't seem to have that. I know that RS3 gets a lot of flak due to micro-transactions. However, it seems that over the years a lot of this was fixed. ![]() Things like Chinchompas, Brews, Spec Weapons (dragon weaponry, godswords), Defenders, etc all became worthless overnight. Many aspects of the game were dead or outdated. I've last played RS3 in 2014, back then the game was still a mess due to the EoC. That or making new weapons with some arbitrary damage boost against certain creatures to keep it from just being outright better than every previous weapon of that kind. And you can tell that by how the only way they prevent powercreep is by making new gear that has a few more X stat than older gear and slightly less Y stat. The simple mechanics don't allow much variety in gear, too. That's why most end-game content just revolves around dodging "special" attacks that go through prayer by clicking a few tiles away. The mechanics are too simple to do anything worthwhile with it. ![]() But having to get many low-drop rate items from Barrows/GWD/Raids is awful, specially when you consider that you can't do anything to the many dupes you'll be getting.ģ- General focus on combat, even though the combat kind of sucks. It's not bad when you only need a single drop from a boss. The strongest gear is almost always dropped by bosses/high-level PVM, so skills like Smithing and Fletching don't serve much purpose other than creating high-alchable items.Ģ- Getting to the end-game and learning that the main progression from now on will be tied to RNG in getting a bunch of low drop rate items from PVM. Outside of the occasional quest/diary requirements, most non-combat skills are really pointless. ![]() I kind of want answers mostly from people with a lot of experience/knowledge on both games (and how their respective Ironman mode play).ġ- The general uselessness of most skills. I have a near maxed OSRS Ironman, and am considering give it a break to try RS3 one.
